The shore offering a new style of Okinawan resort wear
LEQUIO is a clothing store that offers a new style of Okinawan resort wear, designed around the concept of finding “relaxation amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday life.” This Okinawa-born brand offers products such as bags and pouches remade from the material of United States Army tents, which are labelled “MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN” to symbolize the wishes for peace and harmony that are instilled in them. The store also offers a stylishly designed series of Ryukyu Ai (Assam Indigo) apparel which is produced completely in-house; from the cultivation of the plants used to make the dye, to the actual dying process itself.
