Singular traditional confectionery from the days of the Kingdom of Ryukyu
Jahana Kippan makes the renowned Ryukyuan confectionery kippan (mandarin cake) and toganzuke (winter melon pickle) using recipes passed down the generations since some 300 years ago when they were thought to have been brought from China. Kippan is made of Okinawan citrus fruits such as kaabuchii, and has a sophisticated, well-balanced sourness. A great deal of time and effort go into the finished confectionery, so the only store in Okinawa to make and sell these delicacies is Jahana Kippan.
