Taste authentic Japanese confectionaries made with Okinawan ingredients
Yoyo An Factory is a Japanese-style confectionary store, which is fairly rare and unusual in Okinawa. The store offers a lineup of various menu items including daifuku (rice cakes stuffed with azuki bean paste) and zenzai (sweet azuki bean soup), and customers can enjoy the taste of these traditional confectionaries in Ryukyuan pottery (yachimun) and lacquerware. The store’s dorayaki (pancakes stuffed with azuki bean paste) are made with dough containing brown sugar produced on Iheya Island, and an uncompromising approach is taken in the creation of each particular item, such as varying the type of anko (azuki bean paste) used according on the item. The store also offers candied winter melon (wax gourd), a traditional Ryukyuan confectionary.
